Senior Manager, Political Programs, The Home Depot
Sarah McDonald is Senior Manager, Political Programs for The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer, where she is responsible for fundraising, PAC management of the largest retail PAC and 9th largest corporate PAC, grassroots initiatives, and GOTV, covering 50 states, 2,274 stores and more than 400,000 associates. In addition, Sarah is the Government Relations department liaison to The Home Depot Foundation, building relationships between the departments to encourage information sharing on The Home Depot’s philanthropic efforts with elected officials.
Prior to her role managing Political Programs, Sarah was a federal lobbyist for The Home Depot, managing a portfolio of issues important to The Home Depot. Sarah previously worked as Development Coordinator for the Women & Politics Institute at American University, and interned for Mrs. Laura Bush at The White House. She currently serves as a Co-Chair for the Women in Government Relations PACs, Politics, and Grassroots Task Force, as an Alumni Advisory Board Member for the Bryce Harlow Foundation, and as an Advisory Committee Member for the Buzz Advocacy Summit.
Sarah is a graduate of American University with a B.A. in Public Communication and Government, and of The University of Maryland with a Master of Public Policy.
